Osmond Blasts Cyrus' Siring Skills

Pot, meet kettle.
Marie Osmond, that doll-making savior of Middle America, has uncharacteristically lashed out at Billy Ray Cyrus' parenting skills in the wake of daughter Miley's back-baring photo flap.
"My parents never, never left us alone," the little-bit-country one told AOL Television. "We always had some form of a guardian or something with us, a guardian that would represent what they would have done. But in [Miley's] case, her dad stepped out [of the photo session], and that's when it happened.
"How do you say no to somebody like Annie [Leibovitz] when you're a little girl? It's an interesting thing that happened with her."
Also interesting, perhaps at least to Cyrus, is that Osmond's own adopted teenage son checked himself into rehab just last year.
In his defense, when there's no form of a guardian around—when they're busy, say, fainting on national television—it's hard to say no to somebody like Jack [Daniels].

Um, ok. Isn't Marie Osmond's son in rehab? Who was watching her children when she was on Dancing With the Stars? Miley took a picture, that's it! Get over it! At least she isn't a drug addict!

These aging osmond's will do anything to be in the spotlight! I saw the pix, no big deal! It was taken by a female photographer so I doubt that social services would be called. So waht if her dad stepped outside for a moment. At least he was there! It's a back, not a breast! GET OVER IT!!!

I Agree Claire, I agree where was she when her son was smoking crack, this is just another case of the pot calling the kettle black. It is interesting how she thinks that she has the right to say ANYTHING AT ALL to anyone about parenting. she showed her back he smoked crack there is a big difference i would rather have my child show a little back then smoke crack. go back to utah marie maybe next time you might learn to dance a little.

Marie is right and the reason Mr. Cyrus is so po'd is because he feels guilty. He should have been there the whole time. He is making many mistakes with his 15 year old daughter and this is only the latest one. She is not an item to be pimped out. They need to get their poop in the same pile and tell Miley NO once in a while. Parents are not our friends * they are our parents with all the responsibility that goes along with it and that means, every once in a while, if we are doing it right, our kids will hate us and thank us later.

Perhaps everyone forgets that she had a grandparent there when it happened. I'm sure that it is hard to interpret the end results when you are sitting with an artist like Ms. Leibowitz. If you saw the video of that shoot, she was on an outdoor platform with a plain fabric backdrop. She was wearing pants and it did look fairly innocent. Fast forward to the final shot and her skin is ghost white, her lips are crimson and she looks like a young vamp. No guardian, grandparent or father could have anticipated what they would do with a seemingly innocent shot in post production. I guess this is what happens when you trust someone you think is a professional with your image. Kind of like letting a choreographer dress you up as the Bride of Chucky and dance to Wind You Up on Live TV. People make professional mistakes, the trick is not to repeat them.

Uhm, excuse me, Marie, but wasn't your young son admitted into rehab while you were too busy dancing your butt off on "Dancing With The Stars"???? Why don't you take a good look at your own parenting skills before blasting others.

It's so dumb how these celebrities are so ready to criticize other's abilities, but fail to mention their own shortcomings. She is the LAST person to judge! I love the comeback at the end of the article.. Brava Gina!

I think it's sad that people can't help each other and that celebrities give themselves more rope to critisize each other but can't take it from their own critics. A picture was taken. It was a mistake. What I'd like to know is if it's the policy of photographers to take photos of people and refuse to let them see them until they're printed, leaving the subject of the photo in the dark about the nature of the photo and what it implies? Or could it be that no one wants to take responsibility for the photo itself? I say leave it alone. We should help one another. Help Miley to move on. Help Billy Ray to be a good parent and forgive slip-ups. And help celebrities realize that we don't appreciate gossip or their views on others' parenting when they make mistakes too. There's enough character assassinating out there. I don't think we need more help, do you?

I agree that Marie should keep her opinions to herself * BUT, I thought these photos were taken back in February, shouldn't Mom/Dad Cyrus AND Disney have had last say on the photos before going to print? It would've been an innocent photo except she's got this look upon her face * also the one of her laying across her Dad's legs is a bit inappropriate for any father/daughter relationship....

Oh back off! Yes, Marie's son went to rehab but I am sure his drug use was away from her eyes * while Miley's pimpout was in front of her grandparents AND her tutor! It was wrong in every way.

I think everyone has completly blown this out of context. I see more skin at walmart then is shown in this picture. Most of you people that this is supossedly bothering are just people looking for a reason to ******* or just plain jelous of this kid and her father. This kid can stop working today and never have to work again for the rest of her life, That means something to me. I remember being 15-16 years of age and the girls were wearing tube, and tank tops with no bra, and hot pants. This kid is not ten anymore, she is growing up, get over it.

Wasn't her two teenage daughters found on Myspace with naughty raunchy photos of themselves. Marie should be a bit more interested in her own children before bashing someone else of how they raise theirs. Marie DON'T leave your girls alone to post naughty photos of themselves on the internet or your son out of your site in case he drinks or does drugs!! Maybe it's just me... but your kids are more of a screw up than Miley Cyrus!!!

And nobody has seen a teenager at the beach or swimming pool with a bikini on? There is plenty of back shown there as well, not to mention other parts. Even most one piece bathing suits show a lot of back. Lighten up Marie, the hypocrite that your are!
