Charlize Theron: Kids, Yes; Wedding, No!
Today 12:20 PM PDT
No need trying to figure out when Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend will tie the knot.
“I always knew that I didn’t want to get married,” Theron, 32, says in the new issue of W magazine. But she adds, “I’ve always known that I’d be a mom from the time I was a little girl.”
As for their seven-year-romance, Theron, no surprise, won’t reveal too much. When asked to describe the relationship, the Oscar winner adopts a “cavewoman grunt,” according to writer Gabriel Snyder, and says:
Mischa's Grande Move
Today 8:00 AM PDT
Mischa Barton and her thighs have moved to Paris. When asked why, the actress told People magazine, “No reason.”
Uh-huh. Ever read French Women Don’t Get Fat? We haven't either, but we think we know one desperate starlet who did...
The Heat of 100 Hotties
Wed., May. 14, 2008 6:44 AM PDT
Something's not adding up on Maxim's "ultimate list of the world’s most beautiful women.”
Case in point: Ashley Tisdale or Angelina Jolie? Tisdale or Gisele Bündchen? Tisdale or Tina Fey?
It’s no contest: Tisdale is No. 10 on the list, while Jolie, Bündchen and Fey don’t even make it. No offense to Sharpay, but something is wrong here. (We will, however, applaud G4's Olivia Munn at 99.)
As well, the editors clearly never forgot their first piece of American Pie, putting not one but two slices of the movie's cast on the list: cover girl Shannon Elizabeth and the inexplicable Mena Suvari. Had they included the divine Alyson Hannigan, we might have forgiven them, but...
Sarah Jessica's Fashion Emergency
Tue., May. 13, 2008 12:29 PM PDT
"Aren't we all supposed to be a little bit the victim of trends? I can look back at pictures of myself with the great assurance that I will be embarrassed by about 60 percent of them. This is the nature of fashion—admiring the wrong girl, you know, looking at the wrong picture, wishing you were somebody else. And that's the developmentally correct thing."
—Sarah Jessica Parker to Vogue, on her misguided fashion choices in the '80s
And that's not all the SJP that E! Online has for you today. Make sure to come back for Marc Malkin's exclusive one-on-one with Parker direct from her whirlwind European Sex and the City press tour. Shia LaBeouf: "I've Never Worked So Hard"
Tue., May. 13, 2008 9:41 AM PDT
Shia LaBeouf is looking pretty lethargic on the new GQ cover. But maybe we should cut him some slack.
After all, the 21-year-old actor does tell the mag that when it came to prepping for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, he "never worked so hard for anything in my life. I did four months of sword fighting and bike training. And I spent insane amounts of time on the switchblade."
Not to mention the relentless razzing from his buddies when it comes to his personal life, like the time a rumor began circulating that he was dating Rihanna.
"My friends were like, 'Are you serious, bro? Why didn't you tell me about that?' I was like, 'I really don't know her like that.' For weeks they were singing that "Umbrella" song everywhere I walked. And those are my people!"
Ugh, nice pals, Shia. The least they could have done was nag you with that "Don't Stop the Music" tune instead.
Jessica Alba Gets Allure-ing
Tue., May. 13, 2008 5:33 AM PDT
For someone not always (OK, never) seen as a serious thespian, Jessica Alba certainly has the "lady doth protest too much" routine down pat.
The 27-year-old mama-to-be attempts to set the record straight on her career priorities in the new issue of Allure: Commerce over art every time, unless there's a bikini involved.
When asked why she hasn't appeared in more independent, art-house fare, the expectant star gives a refreshingly candid answer, if not one that'll likely keep Sundance at bay for quite some time.
"To me, box office is the most important thing," she says. "If the movie makes money, then I'm fine."
You gotta give the girl some credit for honesty.
Hayden Panettiere: Postmortem Proclamations?
Mon., May. 12, 2008 10:01 AM PDT
Yeah, yeah, we know. By saving the cheerleader, we can save the world.
But the world may need to save Hayden Panettiere from possibly believing she really is the indestructible rah-rah girl she portrays on the boob tube.
In the June issue of Teen Vogue, the Heroes heroine chats about the tabloids and how invasive they can be when it comes to her personal life.
"Nothing is private," she says. "And when they write about you, it's almost completely false."
Of course, when pressed if she's referring to stories about her rumored romance with costar Milo Ventimiglia, the tiny TV titan insists: "I'll not comment until the day I die!"
Um, Hayden, despite what your alter ego Claire is capable of doing, from what we hear, voicing the truth after you've passed on tends to be a wee bit difficult.
George and Sarah: "Rock" Solid
Fri., May. 9, 2008 8:48 AM PDT
Did a little poison nudge George Clooney and Sarah Larson's relationship along?
Not quite. But in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, the Oscar winner's gal-pal does admit that while the two were recuperating from their motorcycle accident last fall, they did take in a marathon of Rock of Love with Bret Michaels.
"We caught ourselves rooting for someone or getting frustrated," reveals Larson. "And we were like, This is sad."
The 29-year-old former Fear Factor contestant also recalls how they met four years ago while he was celebrating his birthday at the Vegas resort where she was working—"We were hanging out and dancing and being goofballs"—before bumping into each other again at the Ocean's Thirteen premiere in 2007 and beginning a relationship.
Gwyneth Paltrow Wears Panties
Thu., May. 8, 2008 5:09 PM PDT
Miley Cyrus isn't the only one posing for magazines in a bedsheet. British GQ has Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover, and the inside shots of the Iron lady show her in nothin' but peekaboo lingerie like slips, bras and garters.
This is as risqué as gets, but still the mother of two remains a target of the tabloid press.
“I’m not going out without my knickers, and I’m not getting drunk and I’m not on my eighth husband,” she tells writer Johnny Davis. “Sometimes they have to drum up a lot of controversy over nothing.”
The only thing we can accuse Paltrow of being is, well, boring. I mean, she’s cooking family dinners and even recites pasta recipes from memory.
What's next—hosting Tupperware parties?
Heidi + Nina = MC2
Thu., May. 8, 2008 10:00 AM PDT
Heidi Klum is on the cover of Marie Claire. Quelle surprise! Not only has Nina been seen talking to the MC folks, but the magazine is rumored to be taking over Elle's spot on Project Runway when its contract runs out.
So it doesn't exactly shock us to see Klum splashed across this month's MC cover wearing a facial expression that pretty much says, “I eat Elle for breakfast.”
Still, we can't decide if we like all this mag wrangling. Either it's a monumental shift for Project Runway (from glam to kinda glam), or it's a move that suggests Marie Claire is going to be the place to be for hot tranny fierceness.
We hope for Heidi’s sake it’s the latter.
Robert Downey Jr.: Will He Be an Avenger?
Wed., May. 7, 2008 9:55 PM PDT
"I really don't know. What I'm on board for right now is the ride home. I don't want to start talking out of my league, because that would have certainly been my inclination in the past. I kind of know how to keep my teeth together a little better than I used to."
—Robert Downey Jr. to Entertainment Weekly, heading home from The Tonight Show, on whether he would be on board for the just-announced Avengers movie
Nicole Richie: Joel "Likes to Get Girly"
Wed., May. 7, 2008 11:22 AM PDT
Nicole Richie is joined by her father, Lionel, her boyfriend, Joel Madden, and the couple's baby, Harlow, in the June issue of Harper's Bazaar for some fun family photos accompanied by a few very insightful comments.
"He likes to get girly sometimes," says Nic about her rocker beau. "But he'd kill me if he knew I said that."
Well, you did say it, so can you be more specific?
No? OK, what else ya got then?
"I'm really excited to get out there and show people that I'm capable of doing something other than The Simple Life."
If only it were that simple.
