Burning Q's: Dean's Other Girl & More Hills Haters

More from Ask the Answer Bitch

I've been watching the third season of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott on Oxygen. They keep saying their new daughter is their first little girl. Didn't Dean have a girl with his first wife, right before he left her for Tori?
—Debby

Good eye, kid, good eye. Dean McDermott and former wife Mary Jo Eustace adopted a daughter together in 2005, the same year that he began his relationship with Spelling. But McDermott no longer has any legal responsibility for the little girl, named Lola. So take the "first daughter" gushing as you will. I know I won't.

A-List Secrets: Why Stars Need Reality Shows

Jamie Foxx Denise Truscello/WireImage.com

What's with celebs needing to do all these reality shows? Are these people so obsessed with themselves, or do they just need the money?
—D.D.

The answer is as varied as the colors of the diamonds that Jennifer Lopez sees dancing in her dreams. Jamie Foxx has a new MTV reality show debuting July 15, but he won't be appearing at all, leaving money as the most likely motivation.

In producing a reality show, big celebs typically get "a 5 or 10 percent takeback from everything made through the show," explains marketer Richard Laermer, who steered über-producer Peter Guber into a reality-show career. "And if the show goes overseas, you can make a fortune on that thing."

So where does that leave, like, Tori Spelling? Well...

The Peach Pit is back!

But it doesn't look like the kitschy 1950s diner from the original 90210. Instead, the cast from the CW's upcoming new 90210 will be hanging at a much sleeker restaurant.

Tori's Insights Into the Miracle of Life

Tori Spelling, OK! Magazine Ok Magazine

Ah, another day, another celebrity mom gracing the cover of a magazine with her newborn.

Doing us the honors this time around is Tori Spelling, who appears with 2-week-old daughter Stella on the front of OK!—telling the glossy she considers her baby to be "a miracle."

"I was on one pill and wasn't feeling well, so I went off of it," recalls Tori. "Two days later, the doctor put me on another, and on that one day, we conceived. It was meant to be!"

That, or perhaps good old-fashioned biology simply had something to do with it. You see, the egg moves into the fallo—oh never mind.

Actresses are being sheared all over Hollywood like little blond sheep. Seems we can't toss our hair without hitting another girl getting a bob: Tori's crop came with her second pregnancy, while Reese's shorn locks seemed to coincide with warmer weather. And the newest 'do gives cute little Hayden Panettiere a sophisticated glamour.

Now get ready for winter's look: blond starlet-hair sweaters.

Paws for a moment of silence.

Tori Spelling's camera-friendly pug Mimi La Rue, a staple in paparazzi shots, on her reality shows and the namesake of her and hubby Dean McDermott's ill-fated B&B, died Tuesday of natural causes at the ripe old doggy age of 11.

Spelling tells E! News that her beloved four-legged friend, who suffered from hip and neck problems, died at the family home, surrounded by the couple, year-old son Liam and 10-day-old daughter Stella.

"We are planning a small memorial service for her with our close friends," says Spelling.

Mimi's casket will be, yes, pink.

Tori Spelling and her mom, Candy, may not always get along, but babies do seem to bring out the best in this contentious mother-daughter duo.

"There is nothing like the happiness and elation of welcoming a new grandchild!" Candy Spelling tells me exclusively through her rep. "Of course, I'm thrilled about little Stella, and now Liam has a sister, which is what Tori had hoped for. This is a very happy time for the family, and I know Aaron would have been overjoyed!"

Tori Checks In for Childbirth

Tori Spelling is picking up where Jessica Alba left off.

The once and future 90210 star, accompanied by husband Dean McDermott, just waddled into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the birth of their second child via a scheduled C-section.

As the two were ushered in by hospital personnel, they were taking care of some last-minute details—like whether they have enough memory on their digital camera.

"Don't worry," McDermott reassured his wife. "That thing [the camera] holds like 150 [photos]."

Tori & Dean: No Longer Inn Love

Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott Greg Tidwell, PacificCoastNews.com

After taking a rather unsuccessful stab at running a bed and breakfast on their Oxygen reality series, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, Tori Spelling and her hubby, Dean McDermott, return to Tinseltown for season three of the show, now titled Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

"I chose to go back because it's home and we had such a loyal fan base," says a very pregnant Tori, who is expecting her second child next month.

Now that the two are back in La-La Land with their one-year-old son, Liam, will Tori's estranged mom, Candy, be gracing them with her presence?

"No family will appear, because I didn't want to use them as tools for promoting the show," insists Tori. "There's been so much drama that it will seem more like a gimmick at this point."

So exploiting mommy dearest for the sake of ratings would be wrong, but aiming the lens at your kids around the clock is completely legit. Got it.

Besides, who needs grandma around when the cameras are, according to Tori, "like family to him [Liam]. He's really comfortable."

Grandpa Aaron would be so proud.

Tori Puts Her Foot in It

Hey, look! Tori Spelling poses with her cute son, Liam, as part of Skechers' new Nothing Compares to Family campaign, which includes a charitable element.

That’s right, Tori Spelling—who famously feuded with her mother and got shafted during the doling out of her late father’s estate.

Um...Go family!

Spelling Spends Big

Tori Spelling may have once had the luxury of her late dad's bank account but not anymore. Even so, she sure likes spending big.

Spelling was spotted shopping yesterday at popular celebrity boutique Harmony Lane in Beverly Hills, where she dropped $2,000! She left with her arms full of shopping bags filled with dresses, shirts, clutches, jewelry and even a candle.

But she should be careful. Spelling told ABC's 20/20 just last month that she was once close to bankruptcy because of her buying habits and credit-card debt.

“I never had to worry about money,” Spelling said on 20/20. “I know that might sound shallow to people, but that was my reality. You know I would sit and watch my mom order stuff online or in a catalogue, and she’d pick a sweater and order it in 10 different colors. And I thought, ‘Oh, when I have my own money, that’s what I should do.’ After a while, it catches up with you.”

Spelling famously got shafted in billionaire father Aaron Spelling’s will, receiving less than $1 million.
